I study the national security implications of advancing AI systems and how governing compute could help address them. 

I'm fascinated by the large-scale AI supercomputers powering AI development and deployment and the data centers that host them.

I've previously investigated data centers, semiconductor export controls and AI supercomputers at the Center for the Governance of AI and at RAND and I helped build AGORA, a global AI regulation database, with CSET's ETO.
