Konstantin F. Pilz
AI governance researcher & aspiring policymaker
Rapid progress in AI brings both promise and peril. Without foresighted regulation, advanced AI systems may present risks of existential scale. As an aspiring policymaker, I want to contribute to oversight that allows AI to flourish responsibly.
With this motivation, I joined Georgetown University’s renowned Security Studies Program, providing me with expertise in emerging technologies and their implications for national and global security.
Previously, I studied the technical and political details of the semiconductor supply chain with Lennart Heim at the Centre for the Governance of AI. My research included AI supercomputers, the data centers that host them, and how governing the two contributes to making future AI systems safe.
